Submission Information for Reviews
|
Selling ARCS (ADVANCED READER COPIES), Galleys or the likes is illegal. Roundtable Reviews staff all know this and abide by it. They know I will not hesitate to share their information if caught. Roundtable Reviews NEVER charges for our reviews. We consider the books payment for our services. Any money sent will be put into a fund to cover postage and site fees. We do accept donations to those who wish to support us. 1. The staff and I get in dozens of books per week. We read as much as we can while still balancing family duties and jobs. We cannot review every book released, so don't get mad when we refuse your review request. A recent email left me cold and wondering if accepting books from authors is even worthwhile anymore. I don't want to let the actions of a few dictate policies, but after being called an "unprofessional, overly-selective bitch" recently, I'm tempted to stop accepting books unless they come from the publisher directly. 2. We will not sugarcoat a review, if we did not like the book! If you can't handle negative criticism, you are probably better off skipping this site. Reviews are based on the answer to the question: "Would I be willing to pay list price for this book, why or why not?" 2. Books must be available through Amazon.com. We use their graphics to save on disk space. 3. Your book must have a firm release date. 4. Due to the overwhelming number of books we have been receiving, all books we review must have been released in 2008 or later. For this reason, we are no longer accepting books from publishers other than those on the following list without prior approval. We do not review POD books like iUniverse or Publish America for personal reasons, so don't ask. If you mail a book from a publisher other than one of those on the following list without prior approval, the review will not be forthcoming. This wastes your money, so I highly suggest contacting me first. This list includes the main publisher and all their lines: Avalon, Beagle Bay, Dorchester, Dragon Moon Press, Harcourt, Harlequin, HarperCollins, Henry Holt & Company, History Publishing, Justin Charles, Kensington, Knopf, Little Brown, Llewellyn, MacAdam Cage, Omnibus, Penguin Putnam, Poisoned Pen Press, Random House, Rodale, Scholastic, Simon & Schuster, St. Martins, Thomas Bouregy & Co., Inc., Time Warner, Tor, Unbridled Books, and Walker & Co. 5. ARC (Advanced Reader Copies), galley copies, and final copies are all welcome. We have no preference between bound or unbound for galley copies. We must have a print copy of some form in order to review a book. Downloads are not accepted. 6. Reviews go up in conjunction with the book's release date or with the date Amazon.com has them for sale. If your release date has already occurred, the review will be on site at the next update (I update as time allows.) We will not put up a review months in advance of its release date, so please do not ask us to do so as a "special favor."
