GIGI: THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS GIFT did not take the path I was thinking.  For that reason, the book surprised me.  Being a Christmas themed children's book, I expected a strong message about gifts are not the most important aspect of the holiday.  While there is discussion regarding the meaning of Christmas, the truth is that Christmas to Gigi is all about getting presents, including the crown to make her a princess for real.  In her excitement, Gigi learns that sometimes the best presents are the ones you do not expect.

The girlish tones of red and pink create illustrations that any little girl will remember.  I've always thought that Meredith Johnson does an outstanding job with her illustrations in the Gigi series.

Sheila Walsh, co-host of the 700 Club, offers a Christmas story that captures the magic, including the rush of present opening, to which any child can relate.  I am certain that the little girl on your list would be delighted to receive all of the Gigi series on Christmas morning.
