THE CHRISTMAS BOOK OF HOPE begins in 1706.  Timothy Smith's parents are very ill and there is no food in the house.  With Christmas quickly approaching, all Timothy desires is an end to his family's troubles.  Santa receives his letter and is heartbroken.  He asks an elf to come up with a book to help Timothy through the rough spots.  Unfortunately, the book disappears.

Three hundred years pass, young Tim Smith asks Santa for help.  Tim Smith's life is not going as he hopes.  He needs support through these hard times.  Santa fears nothing will be as good as the original book, but he cannot ignore the young boy's pleas.  What is Santa going to do?

This is a pleasant children's book.  The illustrations by Frederick Carlson are colorful and eye-catching without being flashy.  The story sends a strong message about hope and believing in oneself.

With the holiday's quickly approaching, it may be well worth your while to add THE CHRISTMAS BOOK OF HOPE to your child's collection of holiday-themed books.
