She's a dark and passionate beauty held against her will by an evil sheik. He's a idealistic young warrior--blue-eyed and breathtaking. When the ruthless Sheik Fareeq's encampment is raided by the Warriors of the Wind, a mysterious brotherhood that despises the malevolent despot, the lovely and daring Badra, concubine to the Sheik, takes her chance and begs to be taken with the marauders. Khepri, a youthful member of the Khamsin, is assigned to guard Badra. Sparks fly between the former concubine and the sapphire-eyed desert warrior, but when Khepri asks Badra to marry him--she refuses. Heartbroken, young Khepri decides to seek his fortune in England. Badra believes she will never see her love again, but fate has other plans in store for both Badra and Khepri. THE COBRA & THE CONCUBINE has everything you need in a summer romance! Although the plot can be a little predictable at times, the pace is very fast and the romance positively sizzles. Ms. Vanak takes the reader on a whirlwind tour that sweeps from the scorched sands of Egypt to the streets of merry ole London. Ms. Vanak's descriptions are vivid, almost lyrical in places, and her characters are compelling and full of life. Badra and Khepri are realistic and likeable and their story is very intriguing. If you're a fan of historical romance or romantic mysteries, then THE COBRA & THE CONCUBINE is a must-have for you! This is a book as hot as a day at the beach! More than your typical romance, THE COBRA & THE CONCUBINE is a historical novel, a mystery, an action adventure story, and a bittersweet love story all in one. Good work, Ms. Vanak! We certainly look forward to more tales of romance and intrigue.
