Kelly Flynn has finally found a home for herself.  After some initial angst with the locals, Kelly is fitting in perfectly in Fort Connor, Colorado.  She's even learned to knit at the House of Lambspun and Kelly finds that this simple pleasure has become her passion.  So, when Kelly is called upon to lead some out-of-towners on a tour of the local hotspots, she can think of no better stop than the House of Lambspun.  However, Kelly is surprised, and a little frightened when she arrives at the alpaca farm and finds no one home.  After knocking for some time, Kelly tries the door and discovers the body of her friend, Vickie Claymore, on the floor, her blood soaking into Vickie's prize-winning hand-woven rug.  But who would want to murder Vickie?

Vickie was planning to divorce her husband, Bob, because she thought he was seeing another weaver, Eva Bartok.  And, Kelly begins to wonder if Eva and Bob's affair could have anything to do with the murder.  Detective Peterson certainly believes someone at the House of Lambspun may be behind the murder.  But, Kelly has her own ideas and sets out to unravel the mystery behind her friend's death before anyone else is "needled to death."  But, will Kelly be able to find out whodunit--or is this a murder that is destined never to be unravelled?

NEEDLED TO DEATH is a great cozy mystery.  Kelly is clever, bright, and likeable and her counterpart, Detective Peterson is equally interesting.  Ms. Sefton's writing style is comfortable and charming with a great deal of wit and humor.  The mystery has enough twists and turns for any armchair sleuth and the ending is quite satisfying.  If you are a fan of cozy mysteries from Dorothy Bodoin, Carolyn Nelson, or Emilie Richards, then this is the perfect book for you.  And, for those that love a good yarn as well as a ball of yarn, there's a pattern (and a recipe) at the end of the book.  I also have to add this the cover is wonderful!  Grab NEEDLED TO DEATH, a nice quilt, and a cup of cocoa and curl up for a nice day of reading away from the chill of the new year.  Simply an irresistible read!  Good work, Ms. Sefton!
