In DIRTY BLONDE, Cate Fante is still learning the ropes in her new job as a judge, and her life outside of the courtroom is one that is not seen as acceptable for a public official.  When a high profile case takes a turn for the worst, after Judge Fante makes her ruling, her secret life is revealed.  This turn of events blows her whole life out of the water, and it only gets worse when she finds herself running for her life. 

Steve Nesbitt is the police detective working on this high profile case, and he takes an instant liking to Judge Fante.  Cate notices Nesbitt going above and beyond to make sure that she stays safe, and she realizes that she likes the unconditional extra attention.  Everyone is judging Cate negatively and this brings her character and credibility into question; so will she be able to convince Nesbitt that the murderer isn't really who the police think it is?  And will that happen before she becomes the next victim?  

DIRTY BLONDE provides us with an irresistible and sexy thriller that is nearly impossible to put down.  There is some humor mixed in to keep it light is spots, but I was on the edge of my seat until the end of the book.  I would love to see Judge Fante return for another page turner.  DIRTY BLONDE is a definite must read and has made me want to read all of Lisa Scottoline's other books.
