A Wine Lover's Mystery

I have raved for over a year about Michele Scott's "A Wine Lover's Mystery" series. Nikki Sands is an extremely likeable heroine, even in her moments of indecision, and she has many of them! Nikki works as the manager at Malveaux Estates, a vineyard with a newly opened spa. The vineyard restaurant, Georges on the Vineyard, is about to have its opening night with owner/chef Georges Debussy at the helm. Unfortunately, Georges is proving to be a stubborn pain for many people. When Georges' body is found with a bullet through the head, needless to say it is Nikki who finds him, many take the center stage as a possible suspect. Perhaps it is the rude behavior of the detective assigned to the case that convinces Nikki to ignore the pleas of her friends and investigate on the sly. Either way, she is determined to solve the case. SILENCED BY SYRAH offers a secondary storyline. Nikki has long been drawn to both Derek Malveaux, her boss and vineyard owner, and Andre Fernandez, a neighboring wine maker. Andre is heading to Spain to purchase another vineyard and wants Nikki to join him. She is not sure what do to, but she has to make a choice! With both storylines, readers are in for a few surprises. The balance of romance and mystery is sublime and keeps you glued to the pages. Michele Scott has another smashing read on her hands. This reviewer is certain that the wait for the next book is going to feel extremely long!
