For stealing back his own cattle from Sir Iagan Murray that were stolen from him, Sir Walter Scott has been captured and will hang. One alternative exists, if he marries his captor’s daughter, Lady Margaret Murray, and vows to obey Sir Iagan, his life will be spared.

This is a time when England laid claim to Scotland and the Scottish clans were at war protecting their heritage. While Lady Margaret is reputed to be one of the least comely women in Scotland, Walter soon recognizes there is beauty beneath the skin. Perhaps the wedding won’t be unpleasant after all.

BORDER WEDDING is another wonderful story set in a time when Scotland had its own heroes and when England was at war with the Scottish clans. I found the story to pick up speed early on and the pace was maintained throughout. Unfortunately this was also a time when women were supposed to obey their husbands without question and Margaret is constantly in trouble for disobedience. For lovers of a good romance, BORDER WEDDING will please the reader and is worth the purchase price.
