Nina
Shepard gave up her career at a primo publishing company writing book
blurbs to become a dog walker. The money’s great, the exercise is fantastic, and hey, the
dog owners aren’t half bad either.
Nina is in love with Daniel, and she is convinced she knows him
better than she has ever known a man. Her
adventure starts on a warm afternoon.
Nina is returning Daniel’s dog to an empty house, so she
decides to look around. Soon
her snooping takes on a whole new realm when she decides to take a
bubble bath… Daniel
returns home earlier than expected, and Nina has to come up with a quick
excuse. What Nina doesn’t
know is that Daniel is not who he appears to be.
Daniel, aka Billy, is really an IRS investigator posing as his
identical twin brother, Daniel, while investigating a case.
Billy is clueless as to how to tell Nina the truth.
When the real Daniel returns, all hell could break loose! THE DOG WALKER is Leslie Schnur’s debut, and the fast pace, witty prose and wide array of quirky characters make for a whimsical read. Those bothered by twin sibling storylines might not be as impressed, especially when the real Daniel returns. However, I felt it was a solid read. What was harder for me were the sudden shifts from past to present, I often had to flip back a page to see if the time span had changed again. You have to read very closely at times to catch these shifts. I said before that THE DOG WALKER is Leslie Schnur's debut. I am curious to see what else she has rolling around in the creative area of her mind. She's definitely an author to watch.
