In November, 2006, legendary college football coach Bo Schembechler died of heart failure, but not before his contribution to his guide on being a leader was completed. Writer John Bacon spent more than a decade getting to know Schembechler, as both a capable coach and caring family man. BO'S LASTING LESSONS will help anyone who wants to develop effective leadership skills whether it is for coaching or for business purposes. What I immediately noticed is that for a self-improvement style book, BO'S LASTING LESSONS is so informal and friendly in tone that it is hard to put down. The informative guide is filled with information that will bring tears to your eyes (the death of one of Bo's former players) and a smile to your face (Bo's falling in love with his second wife.) He offers some solid points along the way from his advice that you let your success speak for itself instead of trying to heavily market yourself, to his principle that you can't have good leadership without being passionate. In essence, the three traits I picked up from his book are that courage, dedication, and honesty are integral. The examples he uses to prove his points come across clearly. I truly appreciate everything Bo Schembechler had to say and definitely approve of the way he said it. This is not a boring business guide to success; BO'S LASTING LESSONS is a heartfelt guide that uses simple measures to perform amazing tasks. It's definitely worth owning.
