Alex Cross begins his career as an FBI agent.  Devoting his time to both his children and said career, Alex knows it will be tough but worthwhile.  His coursework at Quantico soon turns to hands on practice.  A tough case is nothing new to Alex, and this is his toughest yet.

Affluent women in the United States are disappearing at an alarming rate.  A man and woman are kidnapping them in public places, possibly for "white slave" trading.  However, Alex is the newbie on the force and his co-workers, especially his new boss, are determined to do it the "old way", even if Alex's methods could save a life.

James Patterson's books always blow me away.  THE BIG BAD WOLF is another stunner.  Written from both Alex's first-person point of view, the victim's third person point of views, and the criminal mastermind's third-person point of view, the story has amazing depth with each differing viewpoint.  This technique really draws you into the story, yet the POV change is extremely fluid, you barely notice the change.

"The Wolf", a Russian Mafia kingpin, is certainly one of Alex's most cunning adversaries to date.  The Wolf is ruthless, determined, and has so much money at his disposal, he gets what he wants regardless!

I have been an Alex Cross fan from the start.  His growth throughout this series is tremendous, and I often smiled with joy as he interacted with his children.  Each book takes you further into Alex's life, and by the ending I am still wanting more.  I have to say the ending floored me, but I am not going to share here.  Read the book and email me with your thoughts or go post on the discussion boards!

A novel by James Patterson is a mix of thrilling mystery and what seems like a letter from old family and friends.  My hat is off to Mr. Patterson for another amazing read!
