After abandoning her groom at the altar, Beth Morgan steals a horse and races for freedom.  She's not quick enough, however, to get away from Quaid Blair, Beth's father's business acquaintance.  Beth is returned to her father's home.  There she learns she will head to her brother's ranch in Wyoming, but not by train, she must join Quaid on a cross-country trip on horseback.

Quaid wants little to do with the snotty socialite, and he figures she will be dying to return home within a couple days.  Beth's determination is strong and she is not going to quit until she reaches Wyoming.  Despite strong feelings by both to never fall in love again, the trip puts romance in a new light.  Perhaps love is a possibility after all...

THE LOVIN' KIND is a charming historical romance.  The historical detail is not strong as the characters are the driving force in the story.  The characters, however, are enjoyable and add life to the story.  Avalon Romances tend to be shorter in length, and in this case I found myself wishing the ending had been expanded upon, but that does not follow with the general guidelines.  Perhaps the author will do readers a favor and bring Quaid and Beth back in the future.  I'd love to see more of them.
