When
Amelia Morgan’s brother bet and lost her prized stallion to Alex
Laird, a slick gambler, Amelia took the one avenue left that would allow
her to keep her horse. She reluctantly agreed to marry Alex. Her
brother, Henry, obtained the special license from the court and Sheriff
Picken located the preacher. One
minor problem, Amelia’s father was away on business and had not given
his consent but Amelia felt she was her own woman. After the marriage,
Amelia and Alex rode out to his home where Amelia was greeted by a large
house with packing boxes piled in every room. Alex’ answer to her
questions revealed only that they were goods that he had won at cards.
Hoping that Alex will fall in love with her, Amelia sets out to
straighten the rooms out. THE
BETTIN’ KIND is another Morgan Family Romance. We met Amelia’s older
sister, Madeline, in THE
MARRYING KIND. If anything, this latest book by Nancy J. Parra is
better than her previous book. I know I’ll be looking for more of her
books.
