A Faith Fairchild Mystery

Poor Faith Fairchild! She can't even seem to take a vacation without running into murder and mayhem! When Faith and her husband agree to a week long stay at the Pine Slopes Resort in celebration of Faith's father-in-law's seventieth birthday, Faith expects a little tedium, a lot of snow, and maybe too many in-laws. She doesn't expect a missing chef to leave her with the kitchen menu, a body on a cross-country ski trail, a rash of cruel pranks (possibly engineered by family-members), and the ghastly discovery of blood-riddled snow on these peaceful Vermont slopes. What's a kitchen-maven turned detective to do but solve the case before someone else ends up at the bottom of the ski-lift? But, who could be to blame--the mysterious woman living in the depths of the woods, the villain who broke into the Fairchild condo, or someone much nearer and dearer? Faith must discover who's up to what before the knife falls again. . .But, is Faith sure that she wants to know the whole truth? In this, the fifteenth Faith Fairchild mystery, Katherine Hall Page once again manages to create a chilling mystery that is at the same time cozy and fun. The plot is as full of surprises and ingenuity as is the catering sleuth, Faith Fairchild, herself. The characters are as sturdy and likeable as usual. And, Faith's complications with her in-laws are recognizable and often comic. The overall effect is a first rate whodunit with a non-stop pace. Page even adds a few of Faith's scrumptious recipes at the end of the book for those that thought the descriptions sounded too good to be true. This is a satisfying read and a must have for Faith Fairchild fans. Good work, Ms. Page! We're all certainly looking forward to Faith's future adventures.
