THROUGH A CRIMSON VEIL continues the saga Patti O'Shea began with CRIMSON CITY--this time introducing readers to the demonic side of the City of Angels. Readers of the first novel in the Crimson City series will know that in the very near future Los Angeles has become the haven of vampires, werewolves, and plain-old humans. Each group keeps to itself, and society is divided into strata with vampires living in the heights, humans on street-level, and werewolves in the depths of L.A. In THROUGH A CRIMSON VEIL, we find that demons have a nasty habit of day-tripping from their home world (Orcus) to Crimson City if not held back by supernatural forces (a.k.a. "The Crimson Veil.") True demons can only cross the veil if summoned or at great cost, but hybrids, such as our heroine, Mika, can cross the Veil at will. Under orders from the Orcus Council, Mika is directed to hunt down Conor McCabe, a hybrid running loose in Crimson City. Of course, when like meets like sparks fly and Mika and Conor's attraction leads to all sorts of mishaps. Will Mika turn Conor over to the Council--even after he saves her life? Or will the two disappear into the darkness and romance of Crimson City forever? THROUGH A CRIMSON VEIL is a worthy successor to CRIMSON CITY. Bright, ironic, and utterly sultry, THROUGH A CRIMSON VEIL is the perfect treat for any paranormal romance fan. Mika and Conor are intriguing and full of depth. Their romance is fraught with peril and steam and the action is frankly non-stop. Fans of Patti O'Shea's CRIMSON CITY will not be disappointed. If you are a fan of "Angel" and "Buffy" or if you enjoy reading Susan Sizemore, Charlaine Harris, or Nina Bangs, you'll find Ms. O'Shea's Crimson City a place that you want to visit again and again.
