September 11th changed many lives.  We became more aware of our surroundings.  People became friendly with strangers.  Others began dealing with post-traumatic stress.  I have had first hand experience with the effects of September 11th.  My daughter became terrified to leave my side, even at bed time.

Unfortunately, her "symptoms" didn't show up until two years after September 11th.  I didn't know what was wrong, just that something had.  One day she sat down and drew me a picture of the Twin Towers.  A flaming body with an angel's halo was in the sky.  Firefighters on the ground were crying huge tears.  At that point, we got her into a therapist.  For two years, she had bottled up her fears inside her and finally they released in a flood of emotion.

LISTENING TO FEAR delves into the subject of childhood anxiety.  How do your children deal with tragedy when it strikes home or a world away?  Dr. Steven Marans looks at fear and anxiety with each age group:  babies, toddlers, children, teens and even adults.  There is a slew of advice given in an easy-to-follow manner.

I've learned a lot reading LISTENING TO FEAR.  I think it is beneficial to parents of all walks of life.
