Summing up STRATEGIC ENGAGEMENT will be loads of fun.  In a nutshell, if the name Catherine Mann is on the cover -- buy it!  I have yet to find a Catherine Mann book that didn’t tug at my heartstrings and stay with me days, weeks and months later.

After a horrific marriage, Mary Elise McRae fled all marital bonds only to discover her husband wanted her dead.  She ran to a war-torn country where she started a new life teaching underprivileged children.  However, she finds herself returning to the United States and reuniting with a childhood love when she agrees to deliver two young, orphaned boys to their older brother Captain Daniel Baker.

Daniel “Crusty” Baker is unprepared to become a parent, especially to his brothers.  Shock sets in when he discovers the children’s nanny has been replaced by his first love, Mary Elise.  When he discovers she is still in danger, he throws caution to the wind and vows to protect her, no matter the cost.  He may lose his heart in the process, but Daniel is not about to lose the only woman he will ever love.

If you have been following Catherine Mann’s “Wingmen Warriors” series, you already know that these are top-notch reads.  However, if you haven’t indulged yet, I urge you to read them all.  Though they stand alone, they are impressive, passionate, compelling stories that shouldn’t be missed.

I am a sucker for single dad stories, and Daniel is the perfect example of why they appeal to me.  He starts from scratch, knowing nothing about child rearing, and strives to learn as much as he can in his time off.  He puts his job on the line to save his brothers from their unpleasant situation.  That makes him a true hero in my eyes.  The children’s needs always come first with Daniel.

Characters from the other “Wingmen” books return to help Daniel settle into a new role.  I was thrilled to see where they all are now, and can’t wait for the next installment to take me away once again!
