In ON TARGET, Shane "Vegas" O'Riley is on his way to serve his wife their divorce papers when he is sidelined with a military mission to stop a pirate ship from attacking a passenger cruise ship.  Thinking it is a joke at first, Vegas soon realizes that the danger is all too real when the boat fires at their plane.  Vegas and his team win the battle, but the real danger has only begun. 

Sherry O'Riley is raising her two adopted children, but her job with the NGO means she is often helping the poor in remote countries.  Vegas's return makes her uncertain of her true feelings, but when the island comes under attack, she realizes that she must trust in his expertise. 

The two face numerous difficulties from illness to terrorists, and through it all they realize they might not be quite as over their marriage as they'd originally planned. 

ON TARGET contains two romances in one.  Vegas and Sherry are the main attraction, but Sherry's friend and co-worker, Keisha, has her own romance on the horizon with Derek "Rodeo" Washington.  This second romance makes it feel as though there is an added bonus, and a heated one at that. 

Overall, ON TARGET is a delightful military romance that will please established fans and newcomers to Ms. Mann's writing.  It's an excellent beach read and definitely worthy of your time.
