Dr. Samantha Riley's life is filled with problems. Her father's health is failing. Her boyfriend is hardly the man of her dreams. And, life seems a little too mundane. Not only that, but her father is relentless in his promotion of Duncan Campbell, a past fling of Sam's. Irritated by her father's opinions, but not wanting to upset him, Sam keeps her mouth closed. Of course, Sam believes her feelings for Duncan are all in the past. But, when Sam and Duncan are transported back to ancient Scotland, Sam discovers that she still feels something for Duncan. Could it be that she's just jealous of Duncan's attraction to Talamar--a princess that he has vowed to rescue? Because of their dramatic arrival, everyone believes that Sam is Maeve, the Queen of the Fairies--a role that Sam plays with great relish. No one can take their eyes off her, except for Duncan. Now that Sam and Duncan seem stuck together for all eternity, can Sam even attract his attention? And, does Sam really love Duncan or is she just drawn to his mysterious past and his amazing good looks? And, if Talamar and Duncan are destined to be together, does that mean that Sam is stuck playing fairy-Queen forever in the past? It's fairies, fantasy, love, and lust all gone awry in Tess Mallory's HIGHLAND MAGIC. Ms. Mallory's novel is witty, lusty, clever, and adventurous. This is a great book to pack for a vacation. There's certainly no better get away that this rough-and-tumble time-travel adventure. Sam is daring and devious. She pouts, she preens, and she's out to get her man--one way or the other. Duncan is brave, heroic, and handsome--the perfect knight in shining armor--or in this case, tartans. The romance is steamy and the story is intriguing. If you are a Diane Gabaldon fan, be sure to pick up HIGHLAND MAGIC this summer! Just sit back with a nice glass of something cool and let this tale of highland mystery and magic heat up your afternoon.
