Abby Andrews has spent a number of years living and working in Los Angeles, now she's ready to return to her hometown.  After purchasing a run-down beauty salon, Abby prepares herself for life in Malino, Hawaii.  She has no idea that she is about to fall in love with a childhood crush. 

Abby used to be crazy about Kevin Palea in elementary school.  When her aunt asks Kevin to help renovate the beauty salon, Abby is delighted that she'll be spending most of her time working side by side with the hunky fireman.  Love blooms, and only Abby can decide how much of her heart is to be given away. 

THE SECRET WISH is a gentle romance.  There is not a lot of passion burning the pages, but the romance between Abby and Kevin is warm and emotional. 

Annette Mahon captures the essence of Hawaii brilliantly.  The sights and sounds come to life.  The characters certainly dominate the story, but the Hawaiian way of life highlights the romance perfectly.
