Lady Leandra of Lyonesse is betrothed to Reginald, Earl of Tremelyn, who is considerably older. Leandra wants the marriage to be a loving marriage and has sought the help of Vivian to make a love potion. If the potion is successful, Reginald will soon forget his deceased first wife. Meanwhile,
Reginald
has enlisted the aid of Sir Garrett Bernay to escort Leandra to Tremelyn
to their wedding. Sir Leofric of Casseldorne wants Leandra for his own
wife, so the utmost caution must be used to ensure his bride arrives
safely. Since
Garret and Leandra are constant companions, it is not long before they
feel more than just friendship. With
this cast of characters and others who make their way into the book, the
action is nonstop. Sir Garrett recognizes Sir Leofric and remembers him
for the insults Leofric heaped upon him. So there is no love lost
between the pair. In this year of 1346, swords begin to swing
almost instantly. Lovers
of a good historical romance will want to add this book to their reading
lists. Hopefully, you will be as pleased as I was with the
surprise ending.
