England, April 1881 – Evelyn Foster is about to do something very naughty. She and her friend, Penelope, are about to sneak into the dormitory room of a notorious scoundrel, Lord Martin Langdon, the younger brother of the Duke of Wentworth. It seems Penelope would like to leave an anonymous note to Martin. Presuming the room to be empty, they enter and are confronted by the sight of Martin’s chest. Needless to say they must flee but not before their identity is revealed. Their next week is one waiting for some representative of the school to confront them but the matter passes. Years later, when Martin and Evelyn meet again, Martin recognizes her and sets out to win her hand. Evelyn, on the other hand, would like nothing more than to avoid him. What follows is a great romantic story written in a manner to hold your interest. I’ll be watching for more great stories from Julianne MacLean.
