The numbers of home-schooled students are increasing yearly.  Is home-schooling for you?  Sue Maakestad, a high school dropout, has successfully home-schooled her eight children.  Her guide to home schooling offers insight into the ups and downs, a sample schedule of a typical day, and lessons she has learned along the way that are backed up by biblical scripture.  Readers can also check out where Sue's children are today, proof that home schooling works.

There are ample amounts of internet links and mailing addresses that readers can use to find more information.  With the knowledge in hand, you will be able to decide if home-schooling your children is a viable option.

I found HOME SWEET HOME-SCHOOL to be a very informative guide.  I have thought about home schooling, but I still opt to send my children to public school and keep myself involved by doing their homework with them and asking them about their day.  The author’s sample day starts at 6:30 a.m. and ends at 10:30 p.m., with practically no break for personal time.  In order to home-school, it becomes apparent that you must be willing to dedicate most of your waking hours to instruction, assistance, and correcting papers.  I work from home, so I know that my schedule would not fit in with the rigors of teaching at home.  However, if I ever chose to take that route, I know that there is enough information provided within to give me a solid foundation in getting started.

Home schooling remains a very personal choice.  I feel that HOME SWEET HOME-SCHOOL gives you a great look into teaching from home.  If the idea is a good fit, make sure you use the links the author provides and check out state laws before diving in.
