FINE-FEATHERED DEATH is the third installment of the well-received 'Kendra
Ballantyne, Esq.' series.  Its predecessors were SIT, STAY, SLAY and NOTHING
TO FEAR BUT FERRETS. A fourth installment is planned for February 2007 with
a working title of MEOW IS FOR MURDER. This series is the brainchild of
Linda Johnston, an attorney by trade and dog lover by conviction, who has
also published short story mysteries in Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine and
other venues.  Additionally, Ms. Johnston is a confirmed romantic who has
published a large number of romance novels since 1995.

FINE-FEATHERED DEATH once again allows the reader a glimpse into the antics
of Kendra Ballantyne, pet sitter, attorney at law, and on-again-off-again
girlfriend to private investigator Jeff Hubbard. Kendra has a knack for
tripping over corpses, and this time around is no exception.  When
cantankerous and ill-tempered attorney Ezra Cossner is found murdered, there
is only one witness: his pet bird Gigi - and she's not talking.  Soon
everyone who had dealings with Ezra is a suspect, including Kendra's beau.
She goes into full-fledged sleuthing mode when Ezras assistant is found
murdered as well.  Will she be able to clear Jeff?  Will she get Gigi to
talk?

Linda Johnston has a knack for writing a mystery that will have the reader
laugh out loud in many spots.  Drawing heavily on her own legal background,
as well as her own love for animals, she crafts a character who will stop at
nothing to find a murderer, but who will actually work with the animals that
cross her path to accomplish this feat! This is a wonderful book for the
mystery lover and anyone else who enjoys witty, quick, and hilarious action
all packed in one read!
