Kate Hughes has long been inspired to study under the "dreaming spires" of Oxford. When she meets David McKenzie, who is to tutor her in her studies of  such authors as C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, and Charles Williams, she feels more than just a student. She is instantly enamored with David and hopes he returns the feelings. David, on the other hand, tries to suppress his feelings, as she is his student. Lord Stuart Devereaux, a fellow student, has other plans for Kate, and she is forced to fight him off.

INKLINGS was a little slow getting started but once into it, I developed a rapport with the characters and could hardly wait to see how things turned out.  I am not a fan of William Shakespeare, his work can be difficult, but the works that are cited are easily read.

There is some history in the book that regards Lewis and Tolkien, but it is mainly a romance between two very interesting people.  Inspirational romance fans will want to read Melanie Jeschke's debut.
