NEVER SEDUCE A
SCOUNDREL is the first installment in the "School for
Heiresses" series Sabrina Jeffries has planned. An accomplished
romance writer already, - Ms. Jeffries is well known for her
"The Royal Brotherhood of By-blows," "Swanlea
Spinster," and "Lord Trilogy" series. This author
is also known as Deborah Martin and Deborah Nicholas for her paranormal
romantic suspense thrillers.
NEVER SEDUCE A SCOUNDREL begins in a manner that may leave some romance
aficionados reluctant to continue: the heroine, Lady Amelia Plume, acts
like a ditsy wanna-be detective when Lucas Winter, an American major,
makes her acquaintance. She soon realizes that the major is seeking her
stepmother for real, or imagined, crimes she may have committed against
him. Yet after the first few pages of the novel, the reader is
pleasantly surprised to see that Lady Amelia's behavior is an act forced
upon her by the conventions of society, and left to her own devices, she
is a shrewd adventuress with an
unfailing loyalty to her family. This very loyalty is sorely
tempted when she realizes that her feelings for Major Winter run deeper
than she had anticipated. After a series of breathtaking twist and
turns, they find themselves hastily married. Can this marriage born of
deceit work? Is there a future for this couple with Major Winter's
relentless quest for vengeance?
Sabrina Jeffries truly has a knack for writing romance fiction.
Without fail, she can craft a scene down to the very last detail, yet
never make it appear tedious. On the contrary! The conversation of
the characters flows so naturally that the reader can almost hear the
exchanges taking places rather than just reading them. The love scenes
are beautifully and tastefully crafted, and at times Ms. Jeffries' sense
of humor had me laughing out loud! This is a wonderful book that
will enchant any reader quickly and thoroughly.
NEVER SEDUCE A SCOUNDREL is such a wonderful piece of writing that I am
looking forward to the next installments of this "School for
Heiresses" series. A breathtaking book!
