Dalton Parker left his Texas hometown a long time ago and never planned to return.  Until the day he received a call from a mysterious woman telling him his younger brother had been severely injured in a car accident and his mother needed his help.

Joanna Walsh has been Clova Cherry's friend for 13 years.  When Clova's son is injured in the accident, Joanna knows it is time to reunite mother and son.  Joanna doesn't know that Dalton is not going to return easily.  When he learns Joanna's turned part of the family ranch into a chicken farm, he is furious. Yet as time passes, she finds herself developing strong feelings for the man who may well break her heart.

Anna Jeffrey pens a mean romance.  Packed with emotion, SWEET RETURN lacks one thing that usually is considered mandatory in a romance--a strong conflict that threatens the romance.  While the couple have their disagreements, their bond is never broken solidly.  It's more a tale of finding a way to work through the rough spots and making a lasting relationship out of a brief, yet powerful introduction.  Personally, I loved this change of pace.  It gave the author time to focus on the characters rather than the tension and this made them feel real to the reader.

SWEET RETURN is another outstanding entry to Anna Jeffrey's library.  Here's to hoping the author gives Lane, Dalton's brother, a chance at finding true love with the woman he loves but lost.
