The town of  Solace Glen's matriarch, Leona Bell's death from a heart attack, saddens the residents.   Flip (no one calls her Felicity and stays on her Christmas list) Paxton, the local cleaning lady inherits the Bell Family Bible. This sets Leona's brother off in a rage and enforces the local view that he is greedy. He feels he should have inherited the estate. Leona asks Flip to find three letters hidden by women from the Bell family  .When mysterious accidents begin to occur, Roland is immediately suspected and Flip sets out to prove that Roland is behind the accidents, as well as fulfill Leona's final request by finding the letters. As more characters are added to the story, each one seems to play an important part.

THE BELLES OF SOLACE GLEN progressed fast, and I was not able to guess the outcome until the final pages. All mystery lovers will want to add this book to their reading list. Susan James has written a winner!  I am anxiously awaiting the next book in this new series.
