Emily
Warner has wanted nothing more in life than a family to call her own.
Until then, she makes due being a nanny for families she calls her
loaners. They are on loan to her while she works for them. Such was the
case with Mitch Goodwin and his son, Joshua. Except in this case, she
made the fatal error in judgment and fell in love with her employer. While
trying to help him over his sorrow of his ex- wife’s death, they ended
up in bed together. He rejected her and Emily ran away. Now, six months
later, she has returned home to Plenty, Australia and is pulling beers
in the town’s seediest pub. When Mitch also returns home to write a
novel about his real-life adventures as a journalist, he hears where
Emily is and does everything in his power to get her to work as
Joshua’s nanny again. Being wiser and smarter, Emily tries to resist,
until he tells her that he has been having trouble with his son running
away trying to find her. She cannot turn away from the boy she had loved
like her own. Not to mention the fact, Mitch wants to know exactly
happened that night, when he woke from a drunken stupor and found Emily
wrapped only in a sheet in his bed. He didn’t believe her then or now
when she says nothing happened. Since
Mitch has sworn to never marry again, where does this leave Emily and
her love for him?
And why can’t Mitch get over the feeling that if he loses her,
he will lose a part of himself also? Why is he so protective of her if
all he wants is a nanny for his son? Browyn Jameson has written a beautiful love story of a young woman growing, learning to make choices to please herself and not always trying to please everyone else. She learns to value and assert herself, realizing that she is worthy of love. A TEMPTING ENGAGEMENT is a sweet and tender love story that you will want to read all at once. The characters are likeable and real. I enjoyed this story immensely and look forward to Ms. Jameson’s next endeavor, as I am sure it will be as an enjoyable reading experience as this one was.
