Lady Beatrix Lennox is as wild as they come, leaving a trail of scandal in her wake.  Since being caught in a compromising position at a ball years before, she doesn’t see why she should pretend to be stiff and boring any longer.  She has given up on ever being married or having children, until she lays eyes on the Earl of Spade.  She knows with her reputation it is impossible.

The Earl of Spade accepts an invitation to a get together at Esme Rawlings' country home to get away from the tedium of his political career.  When he gets there his life is no longer boring.  He has a rumored affair going on with Lady Godwin, a false engagement with Esme Rawlings, and he is trying to get the much experienced Lady Beatrix to woo him.  He just can’t resist Beatrix, she is nothing he would ever look for in a wife but he is tired of being proper all the time.  Will the Earl succeed in getting Lady Beatrix to woo him?  Can he convince her that, despite her reputation, he loves her anyway and always will?

Eloisa James has done a beautiful job with A WILD PURSUIT.  I was personally waiting on this book for a while and it didn’t disappoint.  Ms. James deals with characters of a not-so-perfect nature that you read so much of in other regency romances.  I love the way she  draws you into the story with multiple layers. One might believe that so many events happening at once would take away from one part of the story, believe me it doesn’t.

A WILD PURSUIT is a very fast paced and  sensual book.  I would definitely recommend it to everyone.  I need to add that this is the third in the series. I believe you have to read the first two or you will be completely lost with the secondary story found within.
