Can you imagine having a roommate who is a fifty-foot dragon named Caleb and who has golden scales and a bad attitude? Lisa Singleton manages quite well. Lisa does not know Caleb was sent to protect Lisa from a coven of witches who are out to steal the magic that Lisa does not know she possesses.

When Lisa’s life is threatened by a black dragon under the control of the witch governing the coven, Caleb coerces one of the lesser witches into granting him the power to change to human form so that he can leave the boundaries of Lisa’s apartment. So begins an adventure between Caleb and Lisa and the evil forces out to kill Lisa.
