In two previous
reviews, PICKUP LINES (April 2005) and LOVEHANDLES (August 2005),
Holly Jacobs introduced the readers to employees of radio station
WLVH. In the third book in the WLVH Romance series, Cassiopeia Grant
is the hostess of WLVH’s music program NIGHT CALLS “where love is
more than just a song”. Cassie has returned from a disastrous
weekend where she planned to marry Gene Gifford but when her airline
trip went astray, stranding her in Florida instead of New York, she
decided she did not love Gene enough to go on with the wedding. It
seems Gene booked the flight using the least expensive routes. Jonathan Cooper,
a divorce lawyer and Cassie’s neighbor, consoles Cassie and their
friendship soon becomes more than just a friendship. Cassie acquires
Dudley, an English Mastiff “the size of a horse”. To add to the
confusion, Gene arrives back on the scene demanding Cassie marry him
and the story begins to get really interesting. As with the two
previous reviews, NIGHT CALLS is a short book and easily read in one
sitting. As usual, Holly Jacobs has added another great book that
deserves a spot on your book shelf.
