Author Adora Navarra has been hired to write an unusual biography. Her employers want her to chronicle the "true" life and adventures of Kris Kringle, a.k.a. Santa Claus. Although Adora thinks that her benefactor is a bit of a nut-case, she agrees to the job--after all, a girl has to eat, right? But, as she delves further into the story of Kris, she starts to wonder if any of this could be, well, real? As Adora probes into the life of "the Saint," who has come to be called Santa, she finds that there's a good deal of misdirection in his story. But, just who could be behind creating the facade of the jolly ole Elf in the red suit? Certainly not Santa himself? But, if Claus has enemies, just who are they--and what exactly are they up to? After all, anyone targeting Santa can't be very nice. . . Will the intrepid Adora be able to find out whose behind this black-listing of Santa or will the naughty little elves behind all this mischief get away scot-free? It's a holiday free-for-all in this rollicking tale of good and evil, mystery, and romance! THE SAINT is a great book. Take everything you "think" you know about Christmas and Santa and throws it out the window! Melanie Jackson frankly turns the holiday season and jolly Saint Nick on their heads. Up is down in this hilarious tale. Not only is THE SAINT witty, well-written, irreverent, and original, it even has a a little romance throw in--as well as a good deal of suspense. A great book for any time of year, THE SAINT is definitely a tale to savor and one that I will read again and again. Don't miss this chance to find out just why elves can't be trusted and why Santa looks best in Armani. Good work, Ms. Jackson! I'm wondering what you'll do with the rest of the holidays. . . |
