If
you want an ordinary romance where boy meets girl, boy is a jerk, girl
leaves boy, boy comes begging for girl back -- of course he's a changed
man by then -- and they live happily ever after, then OUTSIDERS is not
the book for you.
Even
those who are not particularly fond of romance will love OUTSIDERS.
It is full of goblins and elves, feys and magic. This is not your
typical romance. I was enthralled from the moment I began reading
the Prologue.
Cyra Delphin knew the Goblins were taking over, but no one would believe
her, well, no one that she trusted anyway. Her fiancé turned out
to be the biggest jerk ever and she was no longer employed.
The
one person who believed her about the Goblins was someone from Humans
Under Ground or HUG, and after everything that happened with her work
and her fiancé she decided to give them a call. The person on the
end of the phone gave her instructions and directed her to the HUG
Headquarters.
Feeling that was her only choice, she got in her beat up Honda and
headed to HUG. She didn't quite make it though. On the way
she ran into Thomas Marrowbone -- Literally.
He came out of no where. At first Cyra thought he was a mirage,
luckily she stopped just before she hit him, but in his condition even
the close call caused him to topple onto the hood of her car.
Cyra scurried out to help get him out of the desert heat, and even
though he looked skinny, he felt very heavy to her. This was the
start of her adventure. She always knew she was different, but her
parents wanted her to hide her differences, this strange man -- Thomas
Marrowbone, the quiet man, he called himself -- would show her just how
wonderful her differences could be.
Thomas was on a journey himself, a journey to expose the Goblins
ultimate plan, it was a journey that would take him and Cyra into more
then just the dangerous inner workings of the Goblins and Sin City, it
would take them to the height of passion and beyond, it would take them
both places they never thought possible. Cyra would accomplish
things that she never thought she could and things Thomas never thought
she was strong enough to pull off.
This
book was a never ending roller coaster. Thrills and unexpected
turns. I couldn't put it down. The characters were so well
put together that by the end of the book I felt that I was leaving old
friends. The plot was well formulated and it took you to a world
that lets your mind imagine what in our society would be the impossible
but in the magical realms of Sin City, anything can happen. I
enjoyed my journey through this magical adventure and definitely rate
this a must read for all,
not just the romance fans.
