THE STEPFAMILY SURVIVAL GUIDE offers personal and honest views into forming a thriving family unit. Author Natalie Nichols Gillespie uses her own experience to show that though the road is rough, it can be done! When she remarried, Natalie and her own two children joined a family of four – Natalie’s new husband and his three daughters. The new couple went on to add one more boy to the mix. Tensions ran high at times, but they learned how to handle the rough times. Topics from dealing with custody battles to stopping friction abound. Though I have never dealt with the whole stepfamily aspect, I have watched friends struggle to form a solid family unit. Everything I read in this book rings true. I have every intention on buying them each a copy. The information is solid, plenty of support links are offered, and many questionnaires are included that may help get families over the hurdles.
