Melanie George offers a historic romance that is without equal. The setting is beautiful and the characters are vibrant. The love scenes are brilliantly written with a tenderness that is sadly lacking in many a romance novel. The reader's heart aches for the beautiful Rosalyn as her heart is near breaking, and gasps at the hidden villains who seek to usurp laird Derek's position of power and authority. The supporting characters offer many surprises and are in themselves completed players.
