THE POWER OF THE FLOWER is the first of two books in this series, the second one being "Flowers Die, New Buds Form", and is one of the most wonderful stories I have read.

Mary Cummings is a junior at Winston High
School, is on the honor roll, plays volleyball, track, and is involved in gymnastics. One morning while jogging to school, she is struck by a drunken driver and is severely injured. While recovering, she is left wondering why
God has failed her.

One day in the park, she meets an elderly man by the name of Hank, who is very patient with her and talks with her about her feelings. Her attitude slowly changes, as she talks further with Hank.
  I guessed Hank's identity
about halfway through the book, but it didn't detract from the story.

THE POWER OF THE FLOWER is a book that will bring tears to your eyes, so have a box of tissues handy. I recommend this truly wonderful book to all readers. You won't
regret reading it.
