Lisa Genheimer, an award-winning producer and president of Main Street Media, teams up with Ed Bernik, a long-time commercial photographer, in PENNSYLVANIA WILDS. The book is an amazing blend of stunning photographs and a trip into the Allegheny National Forest's history. PENNSYLVANIA WILDS is definitely a book with which you will spend a good deal of time. I glanced through it the first time just enjoying the vivid photography of the area. This may be embarrassing to admit, but even the paper separating the cover from the actual content had me stopping to admire it. The second time, I read Lisa Genheimer's history of the area. The third time, I put it all together and enjoyed every minute. Now the book is out on my coffee table where many friends and family members have glanced through it and then settled in to spend some quality time reading the story behind the pictures. There is so much to see, one trip through the book is just not enough. I look forward to my fourth trip. The book comes with a CD that delves into the images and history shown in the book while further exploring the area in depth. The CD also contains an interactive list of the fifty attractions in the Allegheny National Forest area that should not be missed. I think the only thing better than this book is making the trip in person! It's been a while, but this book has definitely made me want to go back. |
