Claire Spencer doesn’t believe in true love, love at first sight, and all that jazz. So when she meets a handsome, charming man on her flight to London, she doesn’t quite understand why or how she knows he is the one. She’s ready to throw caution to the wind. However, she soon learns her dream man is the same man that just broke up with her best friend. Worse, her best friend is determined to win him back. TRUE LOVE (AND OTHER LIES) is such a cute book. Witty, honest and refreshingly fun to read, Whitney Gaskell creates fun, sometimes exasperating, characters. I loved Claire, but her friend was unbelievable. I did want to climb into the book and smack her. However, isn’t that the mark of a good author? One that can make you loathe the “bad guy.” You’ve all heard talk about the “sophomore attempt;” the follow-up to a smash debut that is never quite as good. Having loved TRUE LOVE, I can’t wait to see what Whitney’s debut, PUSHING 30, was like!
