Do
Animals Go To Heaven? The
search for the truth of many questions, besides whether animals have
souls, is what author Ben Garwood has tried to do in this book. Each
person will come away from the book with his or her own beliefs. I
hope everyone who reads this book will at least consider the possibility
that there is, indeed, answers to be found- regardless of your chosen
religious affiliation or current beliefs. There
are many interesting antidotes to be found in this book; such as, early
church elders wondering if women have souls and even if they are human
beings! Imagine that! That alone is worth reading this book to
discover how they decided that yes, women are human and have souls.
Women were blamed for everything from plagues to natural calamities, of
being substandard, with malfunctioning mental and physical facilities.
Nearly one million women were burned as witches in the 17th
century. There are many fascinating facts in this book that makes you
wonder how we, as a people actually survived. The
author’s main goal with this book is for people to become truth
seekers: to think and ask the questions that have not been addressed
before. He says that for every person to become a truth seeker they must
ask five questions of oneself – Who am I? What am I? Where did I come
from? Where am I now? And where am I going? His
mission with this book is to share everything possible within the given
realm of knowledge regarding each subject and what is related to it,
while encouraging the reader to grow from there – not to accept what
is being taught at face value, but to utilize the entire datum at their
disposal while continuing to challenge, accept, reject and search - To
pursue truth through examination and analysis. Ben
Garwood has presented a vast amount of exhaustive research from all
religions, history, quotes, adages, proverbs, maxims and sayings. Having
been a educator in the public school system for forty years, Mr.
Garwood, in my opinion is not only a tremendous author, but he must also
be an outstanding teacher and man. I wonder if his students ever
realized that they had a teacher of such a grand caliber. He has fairly
presented the reader with facts from both sides, and it is up to the
reader to decide. This
book is definitely not a quick read, rather it is a book to be pondered,
savored and digested over a period of time, a couple of chapters at a
time. To read this book quickly would not give it the justice it
deserves, and one would miss much of its essence and the true flavor of
this stimulating book. I
congratulate Mr. Garwood on writing this book in an extremely well
written, fascinating, thought provoking, extensively researched, and a
sometimes, tongue-in-cheek manner. I thoroughly enjoyed my voyage into
awakening consciousness through the pages of this book, which I consider
a must read for everyone. Do
animal’s have souls? Well I know what I believe, but it up to each
individual to read this book and decide on this and all the other
questions the author ponders throughout this compelling book. “
In
God’s hand is the soul of every living thing.”
Job 12:10
