NIMAUR'S LOSS: Book One of the Vildecaz Talents is the first offering of
promising writer, Camille Gabor. It is also the first installment of the
Vildecaz Saga which is bound to be a highly successful series. The second
installment, DECEITFUL ORACLE, is expected to debut in July of 2007. Camille Gabor is a fascinating writer with a clear grounding in art and a thorough understanding of Finnish folklore Germanic myths.

NIMAUR'S LOSS, as it is printed on the cover, should actually be entitled
NIMUAR'S LOSS. You will find it billed like this in a number of online
stores, and it may also be available in the brick and mortar stores under
the correct spelling. The story takes the paranormal fantasy aficionado to
the mystical Vildecaz Castle where Nimuar and his daughters Ninianee and Erianthee seek to preserve their independence from the Imperial Court. Each endowed with different magical talents, they engage in a covert battle of taking great care to not alienate the Court, remain true to themselves, and preserve their gradually disintegrating way of life. Events come to a head when mysterious magician Yulko Bihn announces his visit which coincides with the monthly magical transformation of one of the daughters and danger lurks at every crossroads. When it seems that the family will make it through the trial relatively unscathed, Nimuar disappears. What will the daughters do next?

NIMAUR'S LOSS was a book of contradictions. I loved the story line. The
writing is superb, the characters brilliantly conceived, and the twists and
turns of the plot so engaging that putting down the book is not an option. I was disappointed with the editing of the material; a few sentences seemed to begin or end in mid-sentence on some occasions, while of course the most glaring inconsistency is the spelling error in the title on the cover of the book. Yet perhaps the one thing which disappointed me most - although it is quite a clever marketing tool - is the fact that the end of the book does not offer resolutions but keeps the reader in limbo as to the outcome of the story. Since I really, really, really want to know what will happen next, it is all but guaranteed that I will pick up the sequel when it is released. I hope that Ms. Gabor will keep on writing more books in this series.
