I am as far from being southern as one can get.  However, Geralyn Dawson’s latest had me thinking cool iced tea and verandas while fanning myself from the intense, steamy heat!

Tess Anderson is good at her job.  And who wouldn’t want to spend their days managing Hollywood heartthrobs and starlets?  However, when her sister, Chloe, calls her from Cedar Dell, Texas, Tess drops everything to go help her out.  It appears Chloe is in the latter stages of pregnancy and her latest beau, Snake, lives up to his name.  He’s left her in a crummy trailer with no money, and worse, no air conditioning!

Tess arrives and immediately teams up with the lawyer, Nick Sutherland, who needs to evict Chloe.  Tess knows most lawyers are pond scum, but in this case, Nick proves to be an asset.  She wants her sister to move into a charming house that Tess purchases, but Chloe’s pride stands in the way.  With a little teamwork, Tess just might be able to save the day.  When Chloe finally gives birth to twins, Tess is in for the ride of her life after her sister disappears from the hospital!

I adore Geralyn Dawson’s books, but I missed the first book set in Cedar Dell, MY BIG OLD TEXAS HEARTACHE.  Having finished Tess and Nick’s story, I am desperate to get my hands on Max and Kate’s story.  For those that have read HEARTACHE, you’ll love the update into Max and Kate’s life.

MY LONG TALL TEXAS HEARTTHROB is a scintillating romance that blends humor, a dose of intrigue and plenty of passion.  Tess and Nick are perfect for each other, even when they feel the need to spar like Hepburn and Tracy.

Chloe has a lesser role in the book.  I had issues with her character’s actions, though she did eventually redeem herself.  I would like to see Chloe pitted with a headstrong man who won’t take no for an answer!
