Confessions
From An Honest Wife; is a compilation of twenty-one different
women’s thoughts, feelings, and perspectives on marriage. The book
is based on women brought up in the Christian faith. Although it has a
religious tone, I still found this book to be quite interesting. There
were many times I found myself relating to these women’s stories,
and wishing I had had someone like them to talk to. So many
women enter into marriage expecting one thing, and finding another,
leaving them feeling alone, and disappointed. This book helps to show
that we are not alone. The length of this book is only 190 pages but,
I feel the most common marital woes were discussed. Ms. Davis has done
an excellent job in choosing just the right stories. Sexual issues,
such as, not enjoying intimate relations, wanting to feel an equal
partner and wanting our opinion to count in our relationships, as well
as how much “togetherness” is just the right amount are discussed.
Each chapter is a tribute to each woman’s heartfelt search for
growth, as well as a life fulfilling relationship. I believe, Christian or not, Confessions From An Honest Wife definitely needs to be on every woman’s shelf. This inspirational book is one I know I will reach for again and again when married life throws an unexpected curve ball my way. I look forward to any future books Ms. Davis brings on this subject. Great Job! |
