I'm not a big fan of time travel romances, but they do have their appeal if the settings are interesting for me.  This one from Dee Davis did just that because it takes a man from the 20th century and sends him back to the Scottish Highlands.  What I also liked about this one is that the hero inhabits the body of another man of that time, so he doesn't look like his 20th century self, which is somewhat more realistic to me.

Marjory Pacpherson's husband was dead, or so they tell her.  Married to the son of an enemy clan responsible for her parent's murders, Marjory knew little affection for her husband.  However, when she goes out with his brother to retrieve his body, she finds him alive.  He had no memory of her or their life together, but Marjory thinks it's a trick.  Finally realizing later on that his memory loss was real, something else began to become apparent to her:  she was attracted to her fiend of a husband!

Cameron has no knowledge of what happened to him, but he knows he's not in the right time!  Also, married to the lovely Marjory was something he anticipated, but first he must find out what kind of husband this Ewen Cameron had been.  When Cameron finally tells her the truth about what he knows, he also realizes that their time together is short lived - he must return back to his own time and settle things there that seem just beyond his grasp of recollection.

If you like a romance with a twist, a time-travel twist that is, then WILD HIGHLAND ROSE is just the book you need to pick up.  The reader is kept aware of what is happening with Cameron in his own time (he's in a coma), but how Ms. Davis works that into her story is very interesting.  The secondary characters keep this story alive and the pace flowing, such as Grania and her role in Cameron's trip back to Scotland through time, as well as Ewen's father and brother and their role in what becomes of Marjory.  The romance between them is charged full of tension and a love beginning.  I enjoyed watching Marjory's hatred of her husband turn into deep love for this new man that inhabits his body.  The time travel aspect is highly believable and I enjoyed reading Cameron's bumbling attempts at fitting into the Scottish Highlands.  A great romantic read from a wonderful romantic writer.
