into mysterious Winoka, home of weredragons, werachnids, and
beaststalkers. In the midst of this lore come reality is Jennifer
Scales, who can morph into her dragon body at will, and her family who
consist of a weredragon and a beaststalker. With this kind of genetic
background, it is no surprise that high school is harder than normal on
Jennifer, especially since she cannot tell anyone what she is. Just when
Jennifer thought she had a good grip on the situation, it suddenly
appears that there is a half-sibling wanting to get even with her dad
for allegedly abandoning the family at the child’s birth. Soon this
creature wreaks havoc amongst those closest to the Scales family, and
Jennifer is the next target. Will she be able to escape from her
half-sibling with her life? Will her family make it through this
experience? Will their secret remain safe or will the town rise up
against the Scales family?

Mary Janice Davidson and Anthony Alongi have succeeded in writing a
wonderful sequel to their original Jennifer Scales' tale. The characters
are well crafted and believable, and it is easy to commiserate with
Jennifer, who has enough on her plate, without having to also worry
about saving a family and the world. You will love the witty dialog, and
the message that loyalty and family come first and foremost. This is a
great book for a young adult, or even an adult who enjoys fantasy stories.
