Betsy Taylor is an ordinary girl with extraordinary problems.  Her fiance is pushy and arrogant, her younger half-sister is a little out of control, and her mother is domineering and won't stop meddling in Betsy's life.  All of these problems might seem a little mundane--something your average fashionista could take in stride in a perfect pair of Pradas--except for the fact that Betsy is dead.  After "dying" on her thirtieth birthday, Betsy rose as a vampire and was eventually proclaimed the Queen of the Dead.  And, although being a princess is nothing new to this fashion mavin and all-around party girl, being Vampire Queen comes with its own set of problems.

Betsy's fiance, Eric Sinclair, a vampire hottie with a more than dark past, comes with a lot of luggage--not to mention a less than winning attitude toward the fairer sex and some old friends Betsy certainly thinks he should lose.  Also, as Vampire Queen, Betsy "knows" all the Dead--which means ghosts like to pop-in for chats, often at the most inopportune times.  If all of that wasn't enough, a serial killer with a hankering for tall blondes is stalking Betsy's neighborhood and she certainly fits his profile.  When one of the serial killer's victims demands Betsy's help, what's a girl to do but put on her sleuthing shoes?  And, with a little help from her friends, this Vampire Diva sets out to find the killer--with only a few pitstops at the mall along the way.

UNDEAD AND UNRETURNABLE is a wonderful read full of laughs, satire, and romance--not to mention a few fashion tips.  Mary Janice Davidson's characters are loveably flawed and always interesting.  Betsy is the perfect sleuth--and she always gets her man.  Think "Interview with the Vampire" meets "Sex in the City" and you have the tone of this book.

Instantly addictive and written with great warmth and style, UNDEAD AND UNRETURNABLE is the perfect addition to this already well-established (and well-loved) series.  If you like Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire Series, you'll love this book.  It even has a Christmas theme--the perfect gift for any romance, paranormal, or mystery-lover on your list.  Well done!
