I once read that about 50% of the entertainment news you hear is misrepresented.  With that in mind, I dove into THE SEXIEST MAN ALIVE, a biography of Warren Beatty.  Author Ellis Amburn has over 30 pages of reference notes that follow the story.  The research that must have gone into this book is extensive and well documented.  In the end, I found myself truly disliking the actor during the chapters covering his sexual conquests from Joan Collins and Natalie Wood to Madonna.  I know he is not alone in Hollywood, but part of me wonders why some men don't grow up and get out of the sexual conquest days of their teens.

The book starts with Mr. Beatty’s early days.  His high school football career led to ten college scholarship offerings, but after trying his hand at a law degree at his father’s prompting, Mr. Beatty dropped out with dreams of stardom.  While his sister’s acting career was skyrocketing, he found himself struggling, eventually riding on her coat tails to get into some of Hollywood’s best parties.  From there he worked his way up the ranks becoming one of the most popular stars today, but he left a string of broken hearts along the way.  The women he has bedded, befriended and left heartbroken all find a place within the pages.  But, this book is not just about his life in Hollywood, it also discusses his friendships, political forays, charity events, and most importantly putting his career aside to raise his family while his wife, Annette Bening, continued her career.

There is much to this man that will have readers delving into this book.  If you enjoy a juicy, Hollywood tale, THE SEXIEST MAN ALIVE is a perfect choice for you.
