When Prince Alexei of Avalonia is seduced by a mysterious young woman at a ball in Venice, he is captivated by her.  Unfortunately, she will neither reveal her face nor her name. Pamela Effington is entranced by the prince but realizes that this night is the only night she will enjoy with him.  Therefore, shehides her identity.

Years later, after inheriting a house in London, she and her aunt arrive to find none other than the prince and his household occupying it. The prince, whose country has been overrun by the Russians,  insists he has a legal lease and is determined to remain in the house. The only practical solution is for the prince to marry Pamela, but there are underlying reasons why Pamela is reluctant.

WHEN WE MEET AGAIN is another triumph by Victoria Alexander. Having read some of her books in the past, I will continue to look forward to more of her books. She has a writing style that brings her settings and characters to life.
