Michele Albert is an author I could sit and read all day long.  Her latest, ONE WAY OUT, is connected to her previous titles of GETTING HER MAN and OFF LIMITS, though it is a stand alone.  What I love most about her style is that she doesn't write cookie cutter romances.  Instead, she captures your attention with unique story lines.

Cassie Ashton is a paleontologist who has just had a one of a kind discovery - a baby T-Rex, nearly intact.  This would help her family's business and give her the status of a respected paleontologist.  The only problem is that she doesn't have the "PhD" behind her name to give her credibility.  So, she turns to her nemesis and arch rival for help.

Alex Martinelli has had plenty of run-ins with the ferocious Ms. Ashton and always looks forward to their clashes with an odd sense of excitement.  When she offers him the chance at the baby T-Rex, he decides to trust her and give her find credabilty by putting his name on it, in exchange for her selling it to him at a fair price later. Trying to deny their attraction to each other proves even harder now that they are working together.

However, things start to get frightening for Cassie when break-ins and attacks begin to occur.  Someone doesn't want her to succeed, but who?  Cassie doesn't believe it is Alex, after all, their relationship has been taking a turn into something beyond enemies, but can she trust him?

ONE WAY OUT sizzles with heated chemistry between Alex and Cassie.  Their head-butting scenes are truly enjoyable and just beg the reader to see what happens next.  Cassie is believable as a tough woman who has had to work to get where she is, but there is also sympathy for her so she doesn't come off as too strong or cold.  Alex is so sexy, it's easy to see why Cassie has a hard time staying clear of him.  I really enjoyed the paleontologist background, giving this romance a unique flavor.  Even though Ms. Albert takes us back to New Orleans, it's only like an afterthought to bring her former characters into the book.  This really is a stand alone romance, with a hint of mystery and danger, and a lot of good old fashioned sexual tension!
