THESE THREE REMAIN is the third installment of Pamela
Aidan's Fitzwilliam Darcy series. A native Pennsylvanian, Ms. Aidan took
to reading early on in life. A history aficionado with a degree in
Library Science, she is a truly dedicated devotee of Jane Austen, her
life and times, as well as of her writings.
THESE THREE REMAIN permits the reader to once again catch up with
Fitzwilliam Darcy. Chastened by his inability to control his romantic
feelings for Elizabeth Bennet, he decides to go forth and make her an
offer of marriage for which she - so he believes - will be eternally
grateful. Yet Ms. Bennet does not receive his magnanimous proposal well
and further humbles the man whose pride is legendary amongst his peers.
As anger, regret, frustration and the first inklings of an abiding love
war within him, Mr. Darcy comes face to face with the real Fitzwilliam
Darcy, and he does not like what he sees. Setting off to make amends, he
must first conquer an old adversary and finally himself. While he may be
successful, will it be too late for a future with Ms. Bennet?
THESE THREE REMAIN is an enjoyable read. A clean romance that is
suitable for reading by any age group, this book shows how it should be
done. Although the third in a series, it can be read as a stand alone,
and the reader will not miss any of the storyline or lack past plot
details that would explain current events. Anyone and everyone who
enjoys romance, Regency England, and a story so well written and
beautifully worded that it reminds of poetry becoming a panting, will do
well to pick up Pamela Aidan's writings.
